What is BPSS Clearance?
BPSS Clearance (Baseline Personnel Screening Standard) is a recognised standard of employment screening set out by the UK Government. The latest BPSS Clearance (version 7.0) guidelines were published in June 2024 to keep pace with modern security requirements. Whilst it is not formal security clearance, it underpins the national security vetting process.
Who is it for?
Anyone who would have access to government assets, the Public Services Network (PSN) and in areas where secret information may be overheard. This includes civil servants, members of the armed forces, temporary staff in departments and government contractors.

BS7858 screening is the British standard recommendation and is used to obtain information about a candidate when recruiting into a secure or high-risk environment.
Who is it for?
Anyone working in a secure environment where the security and/or safety of people, goods, services, data or property is an operational requirement. This could be those working in public-facing roles or who hold positions of authority.
